Meta expands AI video: when to buy more creative and when to fix sales follow-up

If your company already advertises, extra video versions are useful when they answer a commercial question. Before buying more production, reconcile received inquiries with sales, include preparation and review costs, and name the person who can approve the next spending decision.

Meta’s October 6 announcement expands creative production and analysis options. For an owner or marketing director of a service company in Buenos Aires, the decision is whether to buy another video batch, change the promise or first fix why inquiries do not progress. Version counts and cost per form do not answer it.

What Meta announced, and what to verify

Meta says Ads Creative Studio is rolling out more broadly, with creative analysis and video-variation generation or editing. Video generation from static assets in Advantage+ is described as generally available. The same announcement labels other features beta, testing or future rollout; we do not treat them as confirmed access for an Argentine account.

Ask the campaign owner to confirm what the account offers before quoting work that depends on a feature. They should also explain what stays true to the offer and how a variation will be reviewed. The announcement describes tools, not better buyers, CAC or profit. Our October 9 news examines another decision: separating new-customer acquisition from repeat purchases. This article examines production and commercial follow-up.

Locate the loss before ordering more video

An ad may promise something the company does not deliver: coverage outside its area, a nonexistent free visit or an impossible schedule. Correcting the message may then matter even when contacts are cheap. If suitable people arrive after a truthful promise but nobody responds, additional versions do not repair sales coverage.

Keep contact routes separate. Meta described forms, conversations and calls in its November 9, 2023 lead-generation note. That historical reference does not make a WhatsApp click a received inquiry. Sales verifies arrival, removes duplicates and records the next step. When a person cannot be linked to a version, the origin remains unknown.

Ask the provider which observation supports the hypothesis and what a new piece will change. Showing a real service, clarifying who can buy it and answering a commercial objection are different hypotheses. Changing color, music and length without a question may create work without improving the decision.

Keep a concept and cohort record

A cohort groups people by a consistent entry period. Define assignment before comparing: verified entry version, unique person and fit criterion. If someone arrives through two routes or encounters several pieces, document the rule and uncertainty. Do not count two customers or assume the final ad caused the sale.

Complete the worksheet with aggregate data rather than copying names or phone numbers into a marketing report. The agency and sales reconcile counts inside authorized systems. Keep definitions consistent and record changed conditions. Set follow-up maturity from the real sales cycle, rather than a universal creative-refresh calendar.

Fictional example: cheaper platform results do not win the commercial comparison

Suppose a commercial maintenance company in Buenos Aires. Both invented groups have ten days of inquiry entry and thirty days of follow-up, the same offer and coverage, and 600 monetary units of media each. These are not Meta data or recommended durations. A uses an adapted existing asset; B uses a video variation. Delivery was not randomized and response differs, so this is not a causal experiment.

The example charges preparation and review to the first period: 50 for A and 150 for B. It also allocates 150 of management, 50 of CRM/tools and 50 of sales work to each group. The last two are agreed allocations, not necessarily new invoices. They are not deducted again in job contribution. A contains 32 people from forms and 18 from messages; B has 50 and 30. These routes are deduplicated within each group; calls would have their own row if present.

Use the denominator that answers the decision

Media cost per platform result is 600/60 = 10 for A and 600/100 = 6 for B. Stopping there makes B look preferable. But included acquisition cost per confirmed new customer is 900/5 = 180 for A and 1,000/3 ≈ 333.33 for B. Name the costs and stage behind each figure; we do not call an incomplete scope full CAC.

Each completed job contributes an assumed 250 after variable delivery costs and before acquisition. OpenStax distinguishes contribution from net profit. A leaves 5 × 250 − 900 = 350; B leaves 3 × 250 − 1,000 = −250. These are balances within the declared scope, before fixed expenses or other exclusions, not proof of incremental profit caused by ads.

This does not prove video is poor: B received a sales response for only 40 of 80 people, versus 45 of 50 in A. Its 40 people with unknown fit are not reclassified as rejected to complete a report. For A, 20 + 10 + 20 = 50; for B, 16 + 24 + 40 = 80. The platform-to-people differences of 10 and 20 require reconciliation, not assumptions of lost sales or fraud.

Each group’s seven open quotes remain pending, rather than won or permanently lost. Use comparable maturity and record refunds if they arise. With zero customers, do not calculate observed CAC by dividing by zero: spending remains, and the outcome needs its actual status. With small cohorts, show counts and how a single additional close changes the calculation.

Agree who controls the promise, spending and outcome

A tool that makes variations does not authorize a budget or validate service capacity. Use this matrix when accepting production work. Thresholds come from the company’s margin, capacity and cash; they are not industry standards. A higher CTR or lower CPL alone cannot approve more media.

Choose the action at the review

Continue within a limit when the promise is verifiable, response works, the cohort has sufficient maturity and the declared cost scope leaves the agreed contribution. That supports a next step; it does not guarantee that higher spending keeps the same outcome. When reusing an asset, separate new cash outlay from sunk production spending and keep the allocation rule consistent.

Change the message if conversations reveal an incorrect expectation that the asset can address. Keep the offer and measurement stable where possible. Changing video, audience, prices and the sales team together does not allow you to attribute the whole difference to video.

Repair sales first when suitable inquiries are unanswered or fail to reach a quote through lack of follow-up. Name an owner, a date and a sample that can verify response and status. In the example, B’s cheaper platform result does not justify scaling while that gap remains.

Pause additional production if classification data, delivery margin or cash for the sales cycle is missing. Reusing real materials may be enough for a small hypothesis. If the market consists of a few known companies, direct sales and partnerships may be a more sensible alternative to buying additional reach.

What to request before paying for the next batch

Ask for a page stating the concept, supporting observation, production and review cost, included expenses and cutoff decision. “More versions” does not answer those questions. Neither a subscription nor a tool makes management, review or your team’s time free.

Use the agency’s current report to review contracted work. Hiring after a short campaign is a different decision addressed in our trial guide. Choosing the offer to advertise belongs to the profitability guide; Profit Map explores financial scenarios. Neither replaces this record of creative changes.

In ALTO ROI’s free initial assessment, we can review the offer, inquiry quality, acquisition cost and response capacity before agreeing on a plan. The client pays media directly to Meta; management and production are agreed separately. Bring aggregate information rather than customers’ personal data. The goal is to assess how acquisition might help the business earn more, with no sales guarantee.
