Meta announced Muse for Small Business on September 29. It says Muse can connect to Meta ad accounts, Facebook Pages and professional Instagram accounts alongside other business tools. One suggested use is to review what worked and draft a campaign for next week. Meta says nothing publishes, sends or spends without approval. This is a description of intended capabilities and controls, not evidence that it improves lead quality or replaces a manager.
Check the market and the product before budgeting for it
Meta's original Muse launch note described an initial US rollout; the small-business announcement refers to the US and Canada. Neither announcement establishes general availability for an Argentine business account. A Buenos Aires company should check its own account and keep its existing review process until access is confirmed. Even a US owner should confirm which connectors and permissions appear before changing the work plan.
Keep three costs separate. Muse has usage limits and optional paid plans. Meta One is a different subscription. Ad spend and the fee for managing ads are separate again. Muse is also distinct from the Meta Business Agent announced for handling customer conversations. Reading campaign data does not mean an ad lead was answered, qualified or sold.
Decide who owns each judgment
The table below is our decision aid, not a list of functions Meta guarantees. Fill it with your own records before letting a new assistant influence the next budget meeting.
Swipe the table horizontally to read all four columns.
| Task | Input you need | Who verifies it | Useful output |
|---|---|---|---|
| Summarize campaigns and draft hypotheses | Spend, ads, dates and business goal | Owner or marketing lead | One question for review, rather than an immediate change |
| Verify demand | Actually received inquiries, duplicates and fit rules | Sales owner | Unique people with a known need, service area and buying potential |
| Choose a campaign adjustment | Media data plus sales response and cost of the proposed change | Internal or external Meta Ads lead | Reason, limit and review date |
| Approve spend and publication | Cap, margin, service capacity and reviewed creative | Owner or delegated budget holder | Recorded decision; no added spend without approval |
Suppose a dashboard shows twenty records while sales finds fourteen unique people whose messages arrived and six who fit the agreed buyer profile. This is a fictional example, not an ALTO ROI result or expected conversion rate. Twenty platform records, fourteen received people and six qualified people answer different questions. An unanswered message does not tell you whether the targeting failed or sales coverage failed. Someone has to own the classification and record the cutoff date.
Evaluate the assistant without automatically buying more media
If you already advertise, a fourteen-day parallel review can test whether Muse saves useful work before you let it affect spending. Fourteen days is our operational suggestion, not a Meta test length or proof of statistical significance.
- Before: record a comparable period's spend, received unique inquiries, qualified people, open opportunities and confirmed sales. Note who prepares decisions today and how long that takes. Mark absent figures as unknown.
- During: if the connector is available, ask for a summary and two hypotheses. Hold publication and additional spend until the campaign owner verifies the input and the sales owner checks what happened to the inquiries. Review the access you would grant each connector before enabling it.
- At the end: save one useful suggestion, one rejected suggestion and actual time saved or added. If a campaign change is warranted, write the change, funded cap, decision owner and review date first. Any paid test is a separate decision.
If Muse is unavailable, use the same record with your agency's current report or internal team's review. If it drafts convincing campaigns but nobody can reconcile ad records with sales, the reconciliation is the immediate priority. If the business already has reliable data and a good decision-maker, an assistant may reduce preparation work; net savings still require measuring review time, subscription cost and rework. A different decision—hiring after a short paid campaign—has its own Meta Ads trial decision matrix.
When choosing internal work or an agency, ask who will be responsible for the judgments the tool cannot establish from an ad dashboard alone: what counts as a suitable inquiry, how much more to spend, why a change was made and what happened through the sales process. ALTO ROI's Meta Ads management starts with the offer and the path to a sale. Bring this record to an initial assessment if you want an outside view. The method works whether or not you hire us.
